Native to Lebanon and Syria, tabbouleh (which means ‘seasoning’ or ‘spicy’ in Arabic) is a salad usually made up of parsley, bulgur, tomatoes, fresh mint, onion, lemon juice and olive oil.

Tips: To make a good tabbouleh, it’s best to use flat-leaf parsley to make sure herbs are the main ingredients and to use bulgur, not couscous seeds.
Recommended amount: 1/2tsp per person.
